So Lately I have been on this kick of wanting to go to places that are a day's drive away. I can't take time off for a real vacation, so I thought why not just take a day vacation every weekend (AKA sun/mon)!  Well this weekend was going to be Malibu..but the fire and rain kept me away for now.  I don't want to get my camera wet and all. So plan B was to go up to the Cabrillo National Monument. I knew SD would be cloudy and you can't be there at sunset bc they close it, so I thought it might be my shot to get some good pics there when there are no crowds and no harsh sun. It ended up raining hard enough here that I decided to go to plan D. I skipped Plan C because that was Balboa Park, but MOPA (Museum of Photographic Art) is closed on Mondays so there is really no point in that because then I can't buy useless things in their gift shop. I figured, well if I can't go make art, I can always go look at someone else's. So I drove myself down to the Museum of Contemporary Art, where lets be honest I was really more interested in the gift shop than the art. Well oh boy did I find the greatest thing ever!

Yes folks, that is a pencil sharpener that I could not resist and it is definitely going on my desk tomorrow!

I actually bought this before I even went into the museum, I told you I was really there for the gift shop. This outside structure is pretty cool too:

So anyway, it turned out that when I came out of the museum, there was a break in the rain. So I decided to grab a few photos before I headed home. Hey, they're no sunset, but clouds can be just as good!

Here are a couple:
