I was browsing the internet a few weeks ago looking for the latest art events. I was hoping to find some sort of new gallery or art festival, but what I stumbled upon was much better. I found a group in San Diego who hosts what they call "meet ups". Each of these meet ups consist of a workshop focusing on a different aspect of photography. So I figured why not sign up for one?

Not sure what to expect I showed up to the meeting place with my camera and notebook in hand. The photographer teaching the workshop was extremely friendly and helpful, and seemed to really know his stuff.

It was great to meet other photographers and hear their back stories. One girl had been doing portrait work for 12 years. Another guy was just starting out. Then there was me in between those two. I didn't know if this would be a workshop either too advanced or too beginning for me, but it turned out to be pretty great. It reminded me that I actually know a lot more than I give myself credit for. While a lot of the information was repetitive to me, it also reminded me that you can never stop learning. Even though what I took from it was minimal, it made all the difference in the world.

During the workshop we lost the sun pretty fast and I only got to take a few head shots. Here is a shot from that day:
